JUG in Zielona Gora consists of more than 300 enthusiasts of programming. A true elite of the IT coaching appeared during the Monday's meeting, which was sponsored by Cinkciarz.pl.
The Java User Group is the name of an organization which meets regularly and exchanges information regarding the latest trends and directions of the IT development. This time the participants could hear the lectures from Slawomir Sobotka and Lukasz Szydlo, the Bottega IT Solutions coaches.
They are the leaders when it comes to being mentors regarding good programming practice. The possibility of inviting them to this meeting appeared thanks to the cooperation with Cinkciarz.pl. We decided to do it without any hesitation – said Dawid Maksylewicz, co-organizer of the JUG meeting.
What did the lecturers themselves expect from the event? I like the JUG environment, because the meetings' participants are the people who want to do something. They are very committed, they have passion, and, so to say, a twinkle in the eye – said Slawomir Sobotka. He is the main coach in the Botteg IT Solutions, known from a great contact with the listeners, and a communicative style of sharing his knowledge.
Sobotka's speech entitled “Do not code! Write in prose!” was attended by approximately 140 people. Many participants asked questions even couple dozens of minutes after the lectures.
Lectures are just a beginning of exchanging thoughts – said Lukasz Szydlo, the second one of the lecturers. He spoke of the software craftsmanship approach. The real learning begins when the people begin to cooperate with each other. The method I'm promoting is born from a cooperation between “the master” who points out the direction of development, and “the apprentice”, who learns by observing the master.
Why did Cinkciarz.pl get involved in organising the meetings? We are an IT company. We work in a space in which IT and finance meet. We need new, talented workers. We use many methods in order to reach them. The society focused around the JUG is very important for us – explains Piotr Kicinski, Cinkciarz.pl Vice-chairman of the Board.
Cinkciarz.pl announced a constant cooperation with the environment of programmers from Zielona Gora. It is difficult to imagine the development of modern economy without a close cooperation between science and business. This meeting confirms that this cooperation is even more effective, when there is a true passion behind these two areas - adds Kicinski.
The meeting was organised in cooperation with the Department of IT, Electrical Engineering and Automation of the University of Zielona Gora.
