This Wednesday at 19:15, Stelmet BC Zielona Gora will play their first Eurocup quarter-final game against Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas, at their own court. The Basketball Champion of Poland, Stelmet BC Zielona Gora, is having a very successful season. The team is an undisputed leader of the league’s table, with the stats of twenty-one victories and two losses. Moreover, they ensured themselves with a promotion to the play-off phase in nine matches before the end of regular season. Stelmet BC players have not lost a single game at their own sports hall this season. Last time they lost at their own ground was on… June 11th 2014.
Historical success in the European cups
The basketball players from Zielona Gora started their season in the Euroleague. The team faced the leaders of European basketball, including FC Barcelona, and Panathinaikos Athens. Stelmet BC played very well, but they finished in the group phase.
Since January, Stelmet BC participates in the Eurocup games. They managed to eliminate higher ranked teams like Zenit St Petersburg and Unics Kazan. Due to an outstanding attitude, especially in the away games (all victorious), the basketball players from Zielona Gora advanced to the quarter-finals. This Wednesday at 19:15, they will play against the Spanish team Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas. A rematch is planned for March 23rd in Las Palmas.

Stelmet is getting ready for the fight
Even though the Spanish team is the bookmaker's favorite, the fans from Zielona Gora have a strong belief in their team's success. Everybody is living for this game. We realize that there is not much time for preparations, but I can see that our players have the will to fight, and will not let this game go to the wayside. I strongly believe that this is what the match against Gran Canaria will look like: fight, fight, and more fight. This will definitely not be an easy game in comparison to the one against BC Unics for example – said Janusz Jasinski, Stelmet BC owner.
Players of Stelmet BC are strongly hoping for a loud support during the entire game. We're in for a tough game.
